Fin rot is one of the most common diseases among Betta fish. It is a symptom of disease, not a disease itself.

Betta Fish Fin Rot can be caused by a fungal infection (white edges or patches on the fins with the tail rotting in a more even pattern), because of bacterial infection (the tail rot will be more ragged), injury from other fish or getting caught on something in the tank.

The best way to prevent Betta Fish Fin Rot is to keep your betta's tank clean at all times! Check your water to determine the temperature, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and pH levels. Cycle the water in the tank and check the levels again.

As a last resort, check with a local pet store, not a chain, for their recommendation on medicines that can help your betta recover faster.
